Six Years Old!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Hallie Jo.  What a difference a year has made.  It is so exciting and so sad to see her grow so quickly.  I can hardly believe that it has been since six years since she came into our lives.  I have truly been blessed to have such a wonderful daughter.  She makes me so happy to be a Mother.  I could not have asked for anything better.  What a joy she is to have in our home.

This year has brought so many fun experiences for her.  She was able to participate on a Dance Team last year.  It was a great learning experience for both of us, but in the end she decided that ballet is where she finds the most joy.  We have since tried several different ballet classes and have chosen one that has a phenomenal teacher and fits her gymnastics schedule.  She was able to audition for the Nutcracker, put on by the Barlow Arts Conservatory, and landed a small role.  She will play and ornament in the first act and an angel in the second act on November 9th and 10th.  This is our first experience with a full ballet so it will be exciting for both of us.  She lost her first tooth in a Popsicle a couple of weeks ago and I did not even know that it was that loose.  The tooth fairy visited our home for the first time leaving a little extra because it was the first and no cavities.  She started Kindergarten on September 1st.  Of course I cried but she does not know that.  I am still adjusting to the fact that she has to go to school every day and I still miss her when she is gone.  I think that the biggest challenge in Kindergarten will be the social part for her.  She has grown about five inches since last year and seems so much taller to me.  I am still curious as to how tall she will end up being.  Because she is now six she will finally be able to start competitive gymnastics and has her first competition on September 18th.  She is nervous and excited.  I love coaching her and am amazed at her ability every day.  She has a pretty rigorous training schedule that keeps her days pretty busy.  I am not sure how long she will be able to keep up her gymnastics training and still be involved in ballet.  At some point she will have to choose but hopefully it will be the choice that will make her the most happy.  I am so proud of the girl she is and her loving, caring spirit.  I hope that I can be the best mom possible and teach her to be brave, strong and happy.  Happy Birthday Hallie Jo! I Love You!!
