Halloween

What a great Halloween.  Cody decided that his golf club worked better as a sword and was not sure why everyone kept giving him candy.  He did learn the words "candy" and "scare me" from his trick or treating though.  From the words of Hallie Jo, "Halloween was fun and the most fun was getting candy" (even though she doesn't eat it).  Hallie Jo really enjoyed having someone to trick or treat with and show the ropes to.  Cody would have eaten all of his candy if I had let him and Hallie Jo eats a little and then doesn't care about the rest.  I am thinking that maybe I can save the rest of their candy for Christmas.

This is our Pumpkin decorating.  Painting and poking.  So much easier than carving

A fairy and a golfer, what a combination!

Cody would pull his hat off every chance he got.

My little girl turned five last month. I guess she is not that little anymore. I can't believe how fast time goes by. There is never a day goes by that I don't think about how blessed I am to have such a sweet girl. She has the most beautiful smile and and the most tender heart. Whenever someone in the family is having a hard day she is always there with her best hugs. She is a hard worker and tries hard not to complain. Already at five she has learned how to work hard to achieve her goals. She does what I ask her and she helps me out so much. I don't know what I would do without my sweet girl. She is a support to me and always lifts me up when things get tough. I hope that I can be the kind of Mother and the kind of example to her that my Mother has been to me. I love you Hallie Jo.

Every year we have some pictures taken of the kids to hang on our wall. We do it in early summer so that we can have updated pictures each year. Here are a few of our favorites.

Summer Update

Life seems to get pretty crazy at times. I feel like the summer has just flown by with not a lot of down time in our home. Hallie Jo tried out for a dance team at the beginning of the summer and made the team so her summer has been filled with dance or gymnastics. She keeps pretty busy but enjoys it all. Cody keeps growing and is now talking. His favorite word right now is "doggy." Every animal he sees is a dog, even though we only have a cat! He is a busy boy and likes to make messes of Hallie Jo's treasures. We did not go on many vacations this summer because we have a trip to Disneyland planned in November. Hal and I did take a small trip down to Moab (first time for me). It was beautiful!! We were able to do a lot of hiking because we left the kids home and we even took in a river rafting ride. It was a lot of fun. We don't have much for exciting news to share but we do want all of our friends and family to know how much we care and love you all. We feel like we have the best family in the world!! Know that we are thinking about you and are wishing you all the best. Here are a few pics of our crazy summer.

Spring Fever

With spring time coming and Mother's Day right around the corner I am getting excited for the summer. We haven't got many vacations planned but I feel like it will be a great summer. Cody is walking now and getting in to everything and Hallie Jo continues to love her brother to death. I hope that they will continue to get along so well. Hal just finished his busy season at work and we are so happy to have him around again.
